I come to school thinking I was cool

ART!

This is my art















Our art was inspired by Raewyn Harris.

The goal was to create artist inspired artwork.

First we had to a think about the colours and see what worked well together and pick out the colours that we liked.

Next we had to do a draft in pencil and think of what designs we wanted.

Then we had to do another draft in chalk, we had to do it in chalk to practise for our final copy.

We used chalk to soak up the dye on our final copy.

Finally we had to do our final copy in chalk and colour it in and dye it.

Next time I will try to make different colour combinations .

Maths - Measurement

WALT find perimeters and areas of simple shapes

Perimeter is the distance around the outside of the shape. You find the perimeter by adding all of the lengths together.

Area is inside the shape. You find the area by multiplying the length and width of the shape. 

Example: I have a rectangle that is 6cm by 4cm. P = 6 + 6 + 4 + 4 = 20cm A = 6 x 4 = 24cm squared

My Dance Blog Post

Dancing - Term 2

I enjoyed: Doing the Mexican wave in the hip hop dance.
I learnt how: to learn two different dance routines - one Hip Hop and one Cha Cha. 
I found out: That learning a Hip Hop dance is harder than I thought.
Iv'e been challenged by: Dancing with other people. I did not want to hold hands with the girls in the Cha Cha dance.

Creatures of the Deep

 I was at the aquarium and then the ground started to shake and the fish were swimming very fast. I saw a gigantic octopus! It was as big as 100 elephants, with tentacles the size of two giraffe necks. I could see its big black eyes looking straight at me.  

 The octopus was smashing through the buildings. I could hear people screaming and the police sirens moving up and down the streets as they chased the octopus.  

My stomach started to feel like it was moving in circles. I felt worried that the octopus would destroy the city and the people. The buildings were crumbling to the ground and going up in flames. I could feel the warmth of the flames on my face.   
 I smell the smoke rising and swirling around me. There are more police cars now. The fire engines are everywhere. I smell the horrific seawater of the octopus.
 
 I taste seawater in the air. Suddenly, the gigantic octopus came out of nowhere and threw me into the sea. Now I could definitely taste the seawater. The octopus was closing in so i swam as fast as I could,  and scrambled on to the beach

I could hear loud helicopters. Suddenly, the monster was flying, then I realised it was trapped in a net that the helicopters were carrying.

Term 1 Writing

WALT write about a experience using quick write.

In term 1 the Year Six hub went to Waipara camp on two buses. When we got there it was very wet. When we got our stuff and went to the main hall we split into two groups and played some games. Then we went and did some games and did some team building challenges. We did lots of activities. My favourite activity was orienteering because we worked really and were the first team back.

multicultural week

Last week I participated actively in a range of learning experience around ‘Multicultural week’ WHAT: I was involved in a range of learning experiences for Multicultural week. I picked up jellybeans and marbles with chopsticks. It was easier to pick up the jellybeans than the marbles. SO WHAT: I learnt that in Russia there is a building that is made out of wood and there are no nails I enjoyed using chopsticks I was most fascinated by the Dead Sea because there is so much salt that you float in the water. NOW WHAT A question I have is….How long did it take to build the building in Russia without nails?


Mrs Trotter, we would enjoy having different choices of food at school  so I think we should have a cafeteria.
Firstly we should have a cafeteria so we can buy healthy food like sandwiches,milk,water,sausages,fruit and veges.
Secondly we can use money to fundraise for stuff and if we get    an cafeteria we can get back the money so we don’t waste any money.

We can get money from people buying food.we can tell  the classes to go but olny one classroom at a time.so it is isint to crowded.

Pet day

Pet day was fun because I liked looking at the animals and patting them.There was a lizard with a blue tongue.It's skin looked wet but it was dry. The dog show was cancelled half way through the show so we went inside and saw the fish,cats,bird and chickens. There was a hamster with small red eyes. My favorite animal was the parrot but it was very loud.  The animal I don't like was the fish.

Mr Twit

WALT: write a character description

 Mr twit is a grumpy person he is very hairy and mean.His beard is full of old food he glues birds to trees and collect's them then eats them in pies he likes too prank his wife one time he made her think that she was shrinking so he stretched her until he cut the rope and she flew away and then she came back down. once she put a frog in her bed.at the end of the book Mr and Mrs twit got the shrinks and the both disappeared. I think Mr twit is stupid.
