2014 Term 4 Written Language


We are learning to write a recount about the Oaklands School 50th Jubilee or the school Production for the Jubilee.

We know we have done this when...
- we have written some details about some of the events.
- we have written the details in order.

- we have made it interesting for the reader to read.


TERM 3 NUMERACY 2014


I AM LEARNING TO MAKE WHOLE TENS


I have found it easier to make the larger number up to a complete ten so I can find it easier to add the last digit.



Term 3 Topic


I went to Art and Drama.

We painted koru patterns.


These Koru patterns were put on panels and now they make a mural on the back wall of Room 23.

1.    Written about what we think happened before the image.
2.    Written what happened in the image.
3.    Written about what happened in the image.
4.    Described the characters
5.    Described the setting (where it took place)
6.    Added some detail to our story

7.    Started our sentences in different ways.




T3 Mathematics - Measurement


We are learning to work with a partner to measure snakes in centimetres. 
We know we can do this when 
  • we can estimate what it will measure
  • we measure from the mark on the ruler or the tape measure
  • we measure right to the end of the snake

This was fun because we got to eat them in the end.
